Director Leigh Powis and the VFX crew at Mathematic in Paris guarantee sportswear firm HOKA lives as much as its title (derived from the Māori for “fly over the earth”) on this dizzying airborne journey through Anomaly.
From the crew at Mathematic: “Drawing inspiration from the phenomenon of chook murmurations, we have been tasked with reimagining that conduct in a charming method, forming a flock composed of people hovering by means of the sky.
“The method started with taking pictures the primary abilities on a inexperienced display with parkour parts in Serbia. As for the CG flock, we scanned a number of abilities and props in an effort to obtain high-fidelity realism within the last render. Moreover, we motion-captured particular working cycles in an effort to improve the authenticity of the animated sequences.
“For the setting, we recreated the Chamonix Valley in France totally in CG. Each element was fastidiously crafted, from the majestic mountains to the luxurious vegetation, leading to a seamless mix of the live-action abilities and the digital world they inhabited.
“The result’s a novel and emotionally charming business that took three intense months to create.”
