Having issues with vertical circles – Technical Issues

Hi there,

I’ve simply been making spheres in sketchup free and a wierd factor occurred. Generally once I make the vertical circle and I enter a radius of 5 ft, I get a circle that doesn’t have a radius of 5 ft. I do know this as a result of I measure the diameter and it comes out to six ft and a few inches I even had one come out to only one.2 ft. I don’t perceive what is going on. Can anybody clarify? I used to be attempting to grade my pupil’s spheres and now I don’t know whether it is their fault of sketchup’s fault that the sphere will not be the appropriate measurement.

Thaks,

Anthony Wong

Appears like pilot error. If you’re working with a template utilizing ft, begin pulling the circle then let go of the mouse and kind 5 and hit enter.

So Like I did that no less than 5 occasions and solely one of many 5 made the right measurement. I used to be set to inches and so put 5’ when coming into the radius. You’ll be able to even see that it says 5’ radius however the dimension of the radius exhibits. Here’s a video. What am I doing incorrect whether it is consumer error.

Add your SketchUp file so we will see what you’ve modeled.

Additionally the video doesn’t appear to work.

The video was an AVI file. I changed it with an MP4. Discovered a web-based converter to alter if from AVI to MP4.

Are you hitting Enter/Return after typing 5’ ?

I repeated your steps, and first time I attempted it I did get two circles that weren’t 5’ radius. Tried once more, after which it was giving the appropriate measurement. Don’t know what I did in a different way the primary time.

I’m unable to duplicate the error.
