Legendary Photos (Godzilla vs. Kong, Detective Pikachu) is planning a brand new live-action/animation creature characteristic with Animal Mates. Described as an “R-rated highway journey journey,” the mission is being directed by Emmy winner Peter Atencio (Key and Peele, The Machine) and written by Kevin Burrows (The Croods) and Matt Mider, the inventive duo behind GQ animated collection Gents Lobsters.
The studio revealed at this time that the to-be-detailed movie will star Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool 3, Detective Pikachu, The Croods: A New Age), Jason Momoa (Quick X, The LEGO Film 2), Vince Vaughn (Dangerous Monkey, F Is for Household) and Aubrey Plaza (Megalopolis, Little Demon). It was not clarified whether or not their characters might be reside performing or voice over roles.
Animal Mates was reportedly conceived throughout a gathering between Burrows & Mider and Patrick Gooing, an government at Reynolds’ Most Effort prodco. The movie is being produced by Legendary, Most Effort and Prime Focus Studios, with DNEG tapped for VFX and animation (Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Ron’s Gone Flawed).
