Of the administrators collaborating this 12 months, two have already gained the Cristal for a brief movie, Nienke Deutz with Bloomstreet 11 in 2018 and Franck Dion with The Head Vanishes in 2016. Three have gained the Cristal for a Commencement Movie, Tom C.J. Brown with T.O.M. in 2007, Jenny Jokela with Barbeque in 2018, and Daria Kashcheeva with Dcera in 2019.
Annecy artwork director Marcel Jean stated of this 12 months’s lineup: “The Annecy 2023 quick movie choice stands out because of the many movies coping with feminine points, particularly these associated to motherhood. It is a collection of movies with immense storytelling ambitions and with a larger emphasis on humor than we have now seen in recent times.”
The competition will reveal its commencement movies, television movies, and commissioned movies lineups later this month, and its function movie choice on the finish of April.
