Hello everybody,

I wished to get just a little extra accustomed to the Sequencer, Niagara and the UE5 general. I did some technical checks yesterday and it appears to be profitable (?)

Impact Description / Preliminary Thought:

-Vfx Spell Forged
-Freezing of the character
-Vfx of a spike (or hammer?) hitting the frozen character
-Splitting into items of ice


It is a mixture of:

  • “Shocked” animation + Model mannequin from Mixamo
  • My (By no means completed) Ice shader
  • Sequencer driving all the pieces
  • Chaos Destruction baked in a Cache to work within the sequencer

Here’s a higher view of the Ice Shader (wip)
Principally carried out with:

-Fresnel + Icy regular texture
-Vertex Offset
-Native Place Gradient (Masking and Purple glow impact)

Very nice. Did you get the look of the legs being offset from the sting with vertex offset or was it carried out with fresnel?

wow, appears to be like tremendous good. i really like the way it actually appears to be like like a thick layer of ice across the precise geo. very good shader!

I added a shine impact within the ice shader that I can management within the sequencer utilizing a Materials Parameter Assortment (it’s tremendous enjoyable to play with).

Small replace to indicate the brand new stuff:

I’m creating an icy wind spell to reinforce the freezing impact.
