Cinesite publicizes it has been awarded animation work for the upcoming The Smurfs function movie, which is the primary challenge from the brand new inventive partnership between Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Animation, LAFIG Belgium and IMPS, the corporate that owns the Smurfs model. The movie, which is now set for a February 2025 launch, is written by Pam Brady (South Park), directed by Chris Miller (Puss in Boots, Shrek the Third) and produced by Ryan Harris (The LEGO Batman Film). Cinesite’s crew is led by producer Barbara Zelinski and VFX supervisor Chris Kazmier, beneath the path of Head of Manufacturing Tamara Boutcher.
The untitled Smurfs movie, which in response to earlier bulletins will likely be a fully-animated musical journey, is the newest animation function to begin manufacturing at Cinesite. It marks the studio’s second CG-animated theatrical manufacturing for Nickelodeon & Paramount after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a CG-animated movie directed by Jeff Rowe slated for launch on August 4.

The studio can be in manufacturing on Aniventure’s upcoming movies Hitpig, based mostly on characters from Pulitzer Prize winner Berkeley Breathed’s Pete & Pickles; Animal Farm, an animated adaptation of George Orwell’s basic novella directed by Andy Serkis; and the animated collection Iwájú for Disney+.
The Smurfs was created by Belgium comics artist Peyo (Pierre Culliford), debuting in 1958. The tales middle on a village of small blue humanoid creatures, every with a definite character and a knack for journey. Collectively, they cooperate to maintain their mushroom village secure from threats within the forest and the machinations of the scheming wizard, Gargamel.
