John And Religion Hubley Honored With Their Personal Day In Marinette, Wisconsin

Marinette, Wisconsin celebrated the first-ever John and Religion Hubley Day on Saturday after the town’s mayor Steve Genisot established the honour via a proclamation.

John Hubley was born in Marinette, the place his father owned a Ford dealership and his mom was a painter. In keeping with mayor Genisot, “Hubley’s hardworking can-do perspective is a direct results of his Wisconsin upbringing, and his earliest pursuits in artwork have been first sparked when he was a baby in Marinette watching his mom and grandfather paint.”

In his proclamation, the mayor cited Hubley’s trailblazing work as artistic chief of the mid-century studio United Productions of America (UPA) and the prolific output of unbiased movies that he made working along with his spouse Religion, in addition to his work as an artwork director at Disney and co-creating UPA’s Mr. Magoo.
