Studio AKA director Manddy Wyckens leverages her sharply graphic illustration model to set a tone of enigmatic class within the opening titles for Shondaland’s latest Netflix sequence Queen Charlotte: a Bridgerton Story.
The extremely anticipated prequel to Shonda Rimes Bridgerton sequence, the present tells the story of the younger Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence.
Manddy Wyckens: “The unique concept was to create a sequence that retraces the steps of Queen Charlotte in a similar way to the present, which has been executed by weaving vignettes in such a means that we glimpse on the story and blur the traces between the Queen from the previous and the one within the current.
“We saved it refined, connecting photographs with match cuts and glimpses in mirrors and shadows, all of the whereas sustaining a regal tempo to the sequence.
“We completed this with a pointy illustrative model that stays elusive and blurs the traces: some issues will keep within the shadows, indiscernible, and a few issues will boldly take their place within the mild – all of the whereas maintaining a single level of concentrate on the Queen.
“That is served by loads of distinction and detrimental house to let the titles shine. And but, each little element bears symbols, references, or clues concerning the present.”
