Hello !
on my plans, I often use these settings :
- hidden traces (types)
- colour by tag
this manner, all the sides are the colour of their tag.
Now, I want to do the identical with the part line colour.
Does anyone has a tip to try this ?
I need the colour of the part line to be the colour of the layer of the minimize object.
Thanks prematurely !
Part minimize colour is an total colour, regarding the entire mannequin. It could’t be modified to be totally different colours per tag.
Thanks on your reply.
That’s what I feared !
It’s a disgrace and an actual weak level (or am I the one one to suppose so?) for Sketchup in comparison with different architectural software program (Autocad, Archicad, Revit…).
I hope Trimble will learn this submit sooner or later and do one thing about it. Or that somebody will make an ideal extension to resolve this downside!
I really feel your “ache” and sure, it might have been good if it had been potential. Alternatively, whereas evaluating additionally examine the worth. And the enjoyment modeling in a single program in opposition to the opposite. Additionally the inferencing engine and so on.
p.s. you can make a function request. It could be a pleasant function.

There’s a method to do it however you want the zorro 2 plug in, proper click on on the part aircraft and slice the mannequin, then to the traces created from the slice you may assign totally different tags, from format you may change the colour and width of each tag given on Sketchup.
When you disguise part planes these traces are hidden too?
I completely agree, and that’s why I deserted my previous approach of working: sketchup + autocad to modify to Sketchup + skalp + format.
I like to attract with Sketchup, way more than with Autocad.
And I don’t like Revit or Archicad, that are extra configuration software program than drawing software program. That’s simply my opinion !
However now that I spend all my time engaged on Sketchup, I dream that it’ll enhance repeatedly, as a result of some weak factors are actually problematic to me.
The principle ones for my part:
- hatches don’t exist (skalp is nice however a bit weak for my style)
- format is a bit too poor and too gradual.
- exporting an entire undertaking correctly to different software program (dwg, archicad, revit) to trade with engineers may be very sophisticated…
What are you speaking about with “referencing engine”?
I didn’t know you can make a function request, I’ll do it! thanks !
And because of Francisquitof, I’ll test that !
