I had an concept for an impact and coincidentally it completely matches the present sketch! So I’ll attempt to end this earlier than the deadline.

The concept is {that a} frosty bubble will kind, together with chilly swirly winds round a goal. When it’s fully crammed, It then bursts and the goal is frozen. I’ve a sketch someplace however I’ll search for it tomorrow :sweat_smile:.

I labored a bit on some textures in Substance, it was fairly a problem getting a good frosty wanting texture, however that is high-quality for a primary model. I labored on the alpha texture first, then based mostly the principle texture on that.

Began placing the textures in Unity, labored on the bubble shaders. nonetheless not there but, I’m going again to Substance to enhance the textures a bit extra. However all in all, not a nasty first model.

Labored a bit extra on the bubble, went again and improved the textures a bit extra, and tweaked the shaders a bit extra.
I’m presently engaged on the wind swirls, however operating into some annoying layering points. Hopefully I can determine these out quickly.

It’s lastly coming collectively little by little. Added wind swirls, struggled a bit with the distortion as a result of scene opaque solely rendering opaques (who would’ve thought?). URP doesn’t do customized render passes, so I ended up including a secondary digital camera, which renders to a texture. I then pattern the feel so I can add distort results. I additionally added some chilly fog/smoke results.
Lastly I made a burst simulation in Blender. I hold operating into points with Unity not having the ability to load the baked FBX, so I actually ought to begin wanting into Houdini.

Up subsequent is a little more work on the burst and including frozen results to the dummy.
