Director Olivier Staphylas (Kung Fu Panda, and Easy methods to Prepare Your Dragon) groups with choreographer Nicky Andersen (BTS, Taylor Swift) and a severe animation staff to launch Simon Fuller’s digital band The Meeps.
Olivier Staphylas: “Simon Fuller [creator of the Idols TV format] had this excellent idea to create a digital band of stuffed animals. My firm 2 OAKS Productions turned the inventive hub for the challenge, and we began on the lookout for the correct artists to start out the character design and vis-dev.
“I reached out to one among my favourite illustrators, Wiebke Rauers to design our characters. I wished characters that have been each lovable and quirky, and Wiebke completely nailed it. We then introduced in Avner Geller as our manufacturing designer who was super in serving to me put out my imaginative and prescient for the challenge.
“We began working with my good friend Leo Sanchez and his studio who did the modeling/rigging/look dev of our characters, whereas my staff of animators and I at 2 OAKS have been doing the animation dev, rigging suggestions, and offering deformations drawovers.
“Working so carefully with the choreographer allowed me to decide on the animation moments for every part of the music. This resulted in an animatic that was fairly tight and have become the rule of thumb for the remainder of the manufacturing.”
“We approached the animation dev and the rigs of every character in the identical means I approached the character creation of a characteristic movie – I wished to create rigs that have been very interesting and will do something (dancing is difficult), and to ensure we have been creating high-end characters which might be characteristic film-ready.
“I collaborated with Simon Fuller on the creation of the unique music and the very proficient choreographer Nicki Andersen on the dance routine who understood the imaginative and prescient fantastically.
“Working so carefully with the choreographer allowed me to decide on the animation moments for every part of the music. This resulted in an animatic that was fairly tight and have become the rule of thumb for the remainder of the manufacturing.
“We then chosen companions to execute the manufacturing of the work. Brazen was chosen for the manufacturing providers (every thing however animation) and Agora was chosen for animation providers. The groups at Brazen and Agora collaborated carefully to make all of it occur and I couldn’t be prouder of the outcomes.”
