The CG animated characteristic, The Wonderful Maurice, based mostly on the Carnegie award-winning novel by Sir Terry Pratchett, “The Wonderful Maurice and His Educated Rodents,” made its North American premiere this previous Monday at Sundance. Beforehand launched within the U.Okay. final December, Viva Youngsters will launch the film in U.S. theaters February 3, 2023.
In a nod to its Sundance premiere and in anticipation of its upcoming U.S. launch, Viva Youngsters has shared an unique clip with AWN that proves, as soon as and for all, that cats can speak – and so they sound remarkably like Hugh Laurie! Watch and benefit from the clip and trailer under.
A love letter to fables and the artwork of storytelling, the movie follows a sassy, street-smart cat with a sneaky disposition, aptly named Maurice. Collectively along with his band of rats and pied-piper pal, he travels throughout the countryside, swindling villagers with a staged rat plague. All appears properly when the gang units its sights on a scenic market city, although they shortly notice that one thing extra nefarious is afoot.
The city is already suffering from food-snatching rats, a pair of criminals, and a mysterious boss on the coronary heart of the difficulty. Becoming a member of forces with resident narrator and the mayor’s daughter Malicia, Maurice and his pals examine bother, combat daring battles, and uncover the reality of the city’s unlucky occasions.

The Wonderful Maurice stars Hugh Laurie; Emilia Clarke; David Thewlis; Himesh Patel; David Tennant; Ariyon Bakare; and Gemma Arterton, with Toby Genkel (A Stork’s Journey) directing from a script by Academy Award nominee Terry Rossio (Shrek, Aladdin).
